I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review. Intrigued by the summary, I was not disappointed. The book was definitely a page turner, as the story flowed very smoothly and I definitely wanted to know what was going to happen next. It was a quick read.
Trudie and Zach have been best friends since they were young. I enjoyed their relationship and could see that they were nothing more than BFFs. Looking out for each other during the course of the story, they find their relationship tested in more ways than one. Looking for some resolution with issues that have now compounded the crime, hopefully their relationship will survive.
As a sleuth, I enjoyed Trudie’s methods. She didn’t really interject herself into the investigation, but took advantage of her situations to find out more information. She was pretty slick with the delivery of the information to the detective and responding to his reaction of what she found out.
The romance was definitely a large part of this story and a lot of fun. With a triangle of boys and attention she has never had before in her life, Trudie was a complete newbie with the attention.
I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to all cozy mystery readers. A fun book in a new exciting series!
