Saturday Suggestion ~ Five Favorite Female Sleuths

This is a weekly feature of mine, where I suggest books, blog tips, and fun places to visit.Today I'm excited to share my favorite sleuths in cozy mysteries. There are a lot of great sleuths in cozy mysteries, but these ladies know how to have a good time and provide for a good laugh quite often.

Stephanie Plum

Now she is not only fairly good at what she does, but does find herself in a predicament with cars, men, and her family. If you haven't read this series, I suggest you give it a try if you like laughter. It is a little crude, so if you're not up for that, then this probably isn't the best choice.

Meet Stephanie in Explosive Eighteen or Notorious Nineteen.

Hannah Swensen

Now Hannah is a complete opposite of Stephanie. A lot less crude, but does also find herself in predicaments with men and family. She also knows how to cook up and invent new cookies and bars for us to drool as we're reading.

Olivia Paras

Olivia works at the White House. While you would think that she would be sophisticated, not always the case. She's smart, don't get me wrong, but she's not always "politically correct". Her family, who don't visit all that often, definitely provide additional laughs to Olivia's antics. Olivia also has the many romances going on and she's not always sure what to do.

Haley Randolph

Miss Shopaholic is the best way to describe Haley. Always looking for the best of the best and as soon as it comes out, she sometimes gets distracted off the case. However, Haley is always able to divert back on course and accomplish the task. She has also been able to make some interesting arrangements with her money. Her boyfriend is also an interesting aspect of her life.

Nichelle Clarke

Nichelle is a new favorite of mine. Always looking her best and not quite the shopaholic as Haley, Nichelle is very smart and intelligent. Having been able to work herself into a position with various "snitches" from her job at the Telegraph, Nichelle is still looking for Mr. Right.

Meet Nichelle in Buried Leads

Do you have any Sleuth Favorites?

  1. Those are great! I actually don't read many mysteries, but I have read a few of the Evanovich ones and enjoyed them!

  2. Ooohhh...Haley sounds like my kind of detective! Sleuthing out the fashion finds and still solving the crimes. Think I need to read these!
